Welcome to Brio's Premier Mobile Pet Grooming, LLC

Welcome to my website! My name is Kelly Sanford, and I bring professional pet grooming services right to your doorstep. I am a Fear-Free Certified groomer, minimizing any stress for your beloved pet. With my Pet First Aid and CPR certification, you can trust that your pet is in safe hands. I only use top quality grooming products to keep your pet looking and feeling their best.

Why Mobile Grooming?

The benefits of mobile grooming include:

  • Convenience! I come to you, with a fully self-sufficient salon on wheels. You don’t need to interrupt your day to take your pet to a salon and then go pick them up. We can even set up “latchkey” service so that you don’t even have to be home!

  • One-on-one attention to your pet: no extra distractions or potential stress due to the presence of animals they don’t know, and they will have the same groomer every time.

  • No exposure to other animals: The salon is sanitized between appointments, minimizing the risk of any contagions.

  • No dirty pre-groom pets in your car, no need to lift pets into the car, etc. I have steps and a ramp if needed, and my electric grooming table’s height is adjustable. That means that your 75-pound dog doesn’t have to worry about being picked up! (Large dogs are often uncomfortable with being lifted, as it is not part of their normal routine.)

Why choose Brio’s?

First, if you have a groomer that you and your pet like, stay with them and let them know that you appreciate them! But if you’re looking for a groomer, keep reading!

I have extensive experience in animal behavior and husbandry, and enjoy learning everything I can about animals. My time with thoroughbred horses, cats, and border collies has prepared me well to work with sensitive pets. If you have ideas or requests for your pet’s groom, I’m all ears! And if you have a breed I haven’t done yet, I’m eager to learn.

I am a graduate of the Cleveland Grooming Academy, but my history with animals goes back much further. I was that kid bringing home turtles and newts as temporary “pets,” although we also always had a variety of house pets.

When I went off to college, I got a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and then my first horse. I have owned and managed horse boarding, training, breeding, foaling, and lesson facilities.

I’ve worked in small animal hospitals as a veterinary assistant and was an equine ICU nurse. I have managed dog daycare and boarding facilities, and was able to learn a lot about behavior and body language over years of observing many dogs in playgroups. Cats are not so much into daycare, so my professional experience with them has been limited to boarding, veterinary care, and grooming. More recently, I have been training and working with border collies to haze Canada geese away from areas where they come into conflict with humans. And of course I live with several cats and dogs!

All of this experience helps me help your pet be as comfortable and well-groomed as possible - plus I am constantly pursuing continuing education because this is all so interesting to me!

If Your Pet is Unsure…

I will do my best to help them learn that grooming doesn’t need to be scary. We may not get a perfect groom right away, because I am working toward the long-term goal of helping your pet become comfortable with the grooming and handling that they will need for the rest of their life. I am part of your pet’s care team, along with you, your veterinarian, and your trainer. We all want the best for your pet, and we can work together to achieve it. A calm, comfortable pet is the safest pet, and I don’t want anyone getting hurt or frightened!

Pets That I Must Refer Elsewhere:

Pets that pose a danger to me and/or themselves will be better served by another groomer. If you’d like to contact me with your concerns, I am happy to try to help you find the resources that will be most appropriate for your situation.

Pricing

Prices are estimates based my experience. Information from you at booking helps me fine-tune it, but it is still an estimate. Dog grooms start at $150, and cat grooms start at $200. Additional charges are based on the resources required - more time, products, etc. necessitate charging more. Pets who are groomed once or twice a year are more likely to be matted and therefore uncomfortable and stressed, and they will have to endure a longer, more difficult groom.

There are many benefits to keeping your pet on a regular grooming schedule (generally every 4-8 weeks depending on the individual):

  • the coat is kept in good condition so that it doesn’t require as much time, effort, product, and skill to restore

  • the pet comes to see grooming as a normal part of life, rather than a rare (and likely more stressful) event

  • for pets with short attention spans, body aches and pains, etc, the groom doesn’t take as much time and focus

  • the owner gets to live with a pet that is consistently a pleasure to be with - less smell and hair, and no matting

Behavioral issues can be a safety hazard for the pet as well as the groomer. (Unfortunately the only way to cut hair and nails is with sharp tools.) Therefore, pets having difficulty with the process may require extra time and/or we may not be able to achieve a “perfect” groom.

I am also willing to do training grooms for pets that will benefit from shorter, more frequent visits. Those can be arranged on an individual basis depending on the situation and location.

If your pet needs only a nail trim, we can schedule that if/when I’m in your neighborhood.
